CEE startups of the month – AI

CEE Startups Of the Month, AI Edition

In the articles from previous months we brought you closer to CEE startups from HardwareHealthcare and Blockchain industries, so now it’s time for discovering the Artificial Intelligence sector. AI solutions used in various verticals significantly streamline their operational processes and accelerate the pace of development.

Here are some handpicked AI startups from CEE worth checking out – let’s take a look!

Smabbler

Smabbler is a full stack automatic language technology that companies use for processing, structuring and organizing text data for later usage. It provides reduced processing time and error rates, as well as humanlike decision-making in terms of understanding context. The AI is used to sort through data across multiple applications, to create one homogeneous access point. Smabbler’s machine learning is also applied in various fields outside information processing, as their technology can be stretched out to many other functions. These include intelligent assistant, enterprise knowledge base, competition monitoring, automated reporting and analysis, fraud detection. A great advantage of Smabbler’s AI is quick but effective testing and implementation, so it can be embedded in everyday work right away.

Alpha AR

Alpha AR uses AI to create 3D models for virtual and augmented reality. Industries such as gaming and advertising frequently create 3D models manually, which is time-consuming and  cost-ineffective. Fortunately, Alpha AR answers that issue by introducing an alternative AI solution that analyzes 2D images and turns them into 3D visuals. This AI-based platform is very intuitive and user-friendly as the whole process consists of two simple steps: uploading an image to Alpha AR cloud and receiving an iFrame integrated link to the created 3D model. To make it more enticing for the users, Alpha AR implemented a monthly subscription payment model, which enables companies to create as many 3D images as they need within that period.

DRUID AI

DRUID uses AI technology to create and improve intelligent virtual assistants for companies. These chatbots can integrate data from a multitude of different information systems to increase the efficiency and quality of customer service and employee productivity & performance. DRUID’s virtual assistants are developed to expand and adapt more than 500 predefined conversational skills and operate in 48 languages. They can also be applied to popular communication channels such as MS teams, Facebook messenger, Slack, etc. DRUID developed its AI solution to match clients’ needs whether they prefer the algorithm in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid.

UX Mining

UX Mining is an analyzing tool for UX designers to determine how users feel about the utility and visuals of a testing website. User experience is a crucial metric for companies, that’s why differentiating what frustrates or excites clients, makes all the difference. UX Mining uses AI algorithms that examine people’s reactions and hidden signals caught on webcam recordings from usability testing. Within the algorithms, the tool covers eye-tracking, emotion reading systems and records the time spent on a task to present analytics of users’ reactions and possible solutions for improvement. These innovations help designers cut down on tedious aspects of their websites and programs in reduced time with no need for viewing and analyzing the footage manually.

MediNav

MediNav is a virtual assistant that improves the quality and efficiency of meetings between patients and doctors. This VA, used during medical appointments, creates notes, prescriptions, sets up further visits if needed, and generates a transcript in real-time so that at the end of such sessions doctors are provided with a comprehensive summary of the visit. If any error made by VA while preparing a visit summary occurred, the correction made by the doctor is remembered in order to avoid identical mistakes during future visits. This algorithm saves physicians time spent on patients’ diagnoses and makes them more accurate while also reducing the workload to limit the potential errors. Such implementation of AI technology helps clinics increase both the quality and quantity of possible appointments.

DriveX

DriveX is an alternative to the physical car inspection. How does it work? Users are asked to upload specific photos of their machine into the application, then an AI-based algorithm checks for any car defects that need to be fixed. This process saves time and money compared to scheduled visits with the mechanics. Automated check-up also limits the possibility of human error, which in consequence can lead to higher costs in repair and insurance.

Colossyan

Colossyan provides technology to edit existing videos instantly. Their AI-powered algorithm is used mainly for advertisement, which in the last few years has deviated from still image ads and into motion pictures. Such ads need to be constantly updated and personalized to a larger clientele around the world, that is why Colossyan uses original footage and makes crucial adjustments, by translating it to different languages with technology used in video and audio output. The algorithm is not only able to translate dialogue but also modify lip movement to match the script in the new language. Additional features include an automatic chatbot in a form of a pop-up window that answers FAQs provided by Colossyan’s customers.

AGICortex

AGICortex works on autonomous AI for the physical world based on neuroscience. A lot of computer tools used to organize the work of a company were programmed to do basic tasks, so they quickly become outdated with the business growth and development. AGICortex offers an AI-based solution that constantly learns and expands within the company to meet its needs and increase efficiency. What’s more, the startup has also developed tools to supervise the machines, using so-called XAI (explainable AI). As an end-result this AI-based technology reduces costs and time spent on searching and then implementing new systems.

Decoditive

Decoditive aids marketing departments in companies planning to implement any new advertising strategy. Numerous marketing campaigns fail, resulting in enormous losses for corporations – in response to that, Decoditive introduced an AI-powered neuromarketing tool that focuses on analyzing subconscious signals that people make during marketing research. The main reason for Decoditive development is drawing inaccurate conclusions from the limited information provided by a target group during marketing surveys or interviews. This AI-power tool is able to determine what every member of a control group subconsciously thinks by identifying the body language and facial expressions made during the presentation of the tested product or service.  The extracted data is later available for analysis to apply the best possible strategy to marketing. Moreover, that advanced eye-tracking and facial recognition technologies that can be adapted to any device with a camera.

ClickLog

ClickLog optimizes shipment companies and enables them to work at full capabilities. Manually set-up load usually generates errors such as oversized packaging or unused space in transportation, and is handled much slower than when automated. ClickLog uses simple depth cameras and AI-powered analysis to provide delivery companies with an optimal loading plan that maximizes the number of packages that can be loaded to the vehicle. The software includes in its calculations different measurements like the weight of different parcels, delivery route, loading regulations, etc. When the algorithm after accurate calculations provides a 3D visualization of how to achieve maximum capability.
